What is the external vice president?

• EVP and USAC actively meet with UCLA administrators, such as the Chancellor and Vice Chancellors, to bring up student issues and hold them accountable. The EVP serves as a voting member of UCSA, which serves as a coalition of student voices ACROSS all 9 UC campuses. In partnership with UCSA, the EVP office brings delegates to conferences in Sacramento, Washington D.C., and other UC campuses, to equip us to advocate for our student issues on campus. This year, many conversations revolve around student protection amidst federal threats. UCSA channels their advocacy through campaigns in environmental advocacy, racial justice, voter participation, student affordability, and the funding management of the UC as a whole. Overall, the External Vice President strategizes with student groups, ensuring that student initiatives are advocated at these bimonthly Regents meetings through public comment and meeting with Regents to educate them about campus issues.
