I am a candidate for USAC General Representative committed to advancing equity, accessibility, and student advocacy at UCLA. My work is centered on expanding access to basic needs resources, strengthening support systems for marginalized communities, and ensuring that student voices are meaningfully represented in campus decision-making.

I am especially passionate about improving transparency, uplifting underrepresented students, and building a more inclusive and supportive campus environment. Through this role, I hope to advocate for policies and programs that prioritize student well-being while creating lasting, institutional change across UCLA.

Responsibilities

Official Duties

  • Advocate for undergraduate student needs through policy, programming, and campus initiatives

  • Collaborate with USAC offices, student organizations, and university administration

  • Support efforts related to basic needs, mental health, and student equity

Oversight

  • Contribute to the allocation of student government resources and funding

  • Support initiatives related to retention centers, student wellness, and campus services

  • Help ensure accountability and transparency in student government operations

Campus Representation

  • Represent the undergraduate student body in meetings with administrators and campus partners

  • Uplift student voices through outreach, events, and advocacy efforts

  • Engage with diverse student communities to ensure inclusive representation

Platforms

BASIC NEEDS & STUDENT WELL-BEING

  • Expand access to food, housing, healthcare, and financial resources through a centralized Basic Needs Resource Hub

  • Increase availability of mental health services and mutual aid programs, especially for marginalized and non-traditional students

  • Advocate for long-term institutional funding to support student wellness and basic needs

EQUITY, RETENTION & ACCOUNTABILITY

  • Strengthen retention centers and DEI initiatives through increased funding and transparency

  • Hold UCLA administration accountable through student-facing reports and advocacy campaigns

  • Expand accessible mental health and legal resources for underserved communities

UPLIFTING STUDENT VOICES

  • Expand support for non-traditional students through targeted programming and resources

  • Advocate for student worker protections, including strike support and labor rights

  • Create consistent channels for student input, dialogue, and advocacy

SANCTUARY CAMPUS & STUDENT PROTECTION

  • Advocate for protections for undocumented students, including legal aid and rapid-response systems

  • Promote non-police safety measures and community-based campus security

  • Expand access to Know Your Rights resources and emergency support systems

STUDENT ORGANIZATIONS & COMMUNITY BUILDING

  • Increase funding transparency and student control over Mother Organization (MO) resources

  • Strengthen collaboration across student groups through events, mentorship, and shared spaces

  • Support cultural, academic, and wellness programming that fosters belonging
